About the hotel

NIPPONIA Chichibu Shrine Town, opened in August 2022, offers a unique accommodation experience in Chichibu, a town rich in natural beauty and traditional Japanese culture, just 90 minutes from Tokyo by train. The hotel has meticulously renovated several historically significant buildings, including the registered tangible cultural property Koike Tobacconist (built in the early Showa era), the accompanying Miyatani House, and the Maruju Pharmacy (constructed between the first year of the Meiji era and the early Showa era), preserving their historical charm while providing modern comforts. A highlight of the hotel is its guest rooms, transformed from a century-old traditional Japanese house. These beautifully preserved buildings showcase Chichibu's heritage, seamlessly blending traditional architecture with modern amenities. Each room features a signature cypress bath, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Guests can enjoy a traditional Japanese breakfast featuring local Chichibu ingredients, including fresh vegetables, eggs, river-sourced sweetfish, miso, pickled plums, and other regional delicacies. The hotel staff is dedicated to ensuring a memorable stay, from check-in to departure. Beyond the hotel, Chichibu offers a wealth of attractions, from exploring the natural landscape to visiting historical sites like Chichibu Shrine and Mitsumine Shrine. Local culinary delights such as Warajikatsu and Miso Potatoes are also a must-try.
