As part of a B Corp certified group, the hotel works hand-in-hand with local communities, using locally sourced materials, supporting Zanzibari artisans and celebrating the island’s rich creative spirit. Most of the furniture, finishes and fittings come directly from the island itself. And that care extends to the environment. There’s no single-use plastic in the guest experience, toiletries are 100% natural and vegan, and water and energy are used mindfully. Solar already powers 50% of the property, with a goal of reaching 80% by 2028. Behind the scenes, the team is mostly local, trained in-house and deeply involved in the day-to-day life of the place.
