About the hotel

The hotel is situated looking out over the village green in Adderbury, one of the most beautiful villages in Oxfordshire. Birmingham Airport is some 72 km from the hotel, while Luton Airport is about 104 km away and Heathrow Airport is approximately 106 km away. This magnificent coaching inn is steeped in history, looking out over the village green. The property is luxuriously appointed and carefully maintained in the finest traditional manner, with a wealth of old oak and stone chimney pieces of considerable interest to lovers of English heritage. Guests should be prepared to duck under low beams and meander through narrow doors and hallways. Long-hidden features discovered during restoration indicate that this ancient Royalist-owned hostelry dates from before the Civil War. A list of landlords has been proudly retained since 1690 and is displayed in the bar. The hotel is non-smoking throughout. The property comprises a total of 12 guest rooms. Facilities on offer include a lobby, a restaurant, Internet access and a car park. The comfortable en-suite bedrooms each include a telephone, daily housekeeping, a television and tea and coffee making facilities. A shower, a bathtub, a double bed, a radio, Internet access and an iron and ironing board also come as standard. The restaurant specialises in good, simple English food. The bar also serves delicious meals, together with traditional ales. By car: From the M40, turn off at Junction 11 into Banbury. Take the A4260 towards Oxford through Bodicote into Adderbury. The hotel is on the left-hand side.
