About the hotel

Nestled near the Spanish border in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Elvas, SL Hotel – Santa Luzia**** offers a tranquil escape on the Lisbon-Madrid motorway. Continuing a tradition of gracious hospitality since 1942 when it opened as Portugal's first Pousada, this four-star hotel seamlessly blends comfort with the region's rich history, gastronomy, and unique landscapes. Following a meticulous restoration and modernization in 2013, the hotel retains its distinctive architecture by Miguel Jacobetty Rosa, complemented by a cozy ambiance and personalized service. Warm up by the fireplaces on cool winter days, or take a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool and stroll through the expansive gardens in the summer. The hotel's prime location offers the best of both worlds: easy access to Elvas' historic city center and a serene garden setting for relaxation after a day of exploration. Choose from 25 Standard or Superior rooms, each featuring hand-painted Alentejo furnishings and views of the pool, gardens, city, or the Amoreira Aqueduct. Savor traditional Elvas cuisine at the on-site Restaurant 1942.
